Stevenage Homes is responsible for the management and maintenance of 8,000 local council properties. The company was looking for a product to help deliver insulation improvements to many of its managed homes as part of its social housing renovation work.

What was specified:

TLX Gold can help where regulation requires roof repairs above 25 percent of an area to upgrade the thermal performance to current standards, subject to the 15 year payback rule. TLX Gold was specified as it overcomes the technical and structural problems of raising a roof line or lowering a ceiling. Here the product delivered an improved thermal performance - 0.29 U-value - for homes with loft rooms.

By installing the products externally:

· the contractors don’t require access to the loft space

· residents incurred fewer disturbances

· the interior décor of the loft room is maintained.
